Wednesday 11/12

Tonight we are having sub sandwiches for supper. Make yours as big or as small as you’d like. I’m sure there will be Mrs. Griffin’s famous chicken salad in addition to the cold cuts.

Also, the teens have a special treat tonight. The Wilds Ministry Team will be doing our youth service tonight. We will see you there!

On Friday and Saturday, November 7-8, 2014, we will be hosting a Children’s Ministry Workshop. Dr. Larry Hipps of Bring Them In Ministries will conduct the Workshops in order to give training to those who want to grow their children’s ministry. Adults and teenagers are encouraged to attend. You do not need to attend all. Feel free to attend those that will benefit your specific area of ministry or attend them all! Here is a schedule of Workshops.

Friday, November 7

7:00 p.m.- Characteristics of Great Teachers: What are the things that all good teachers have in common? We will look at the attributes of a good teacher that make the difference.

8:00 p.m.- Leading a Child to Christ: We assume every Children’s Ministry worker knows how to lead a child to a saving knowledge of Christ, but that is not always true. This workshop will teach you the right questions to ask and how to explain things in a way that children understand.

Saturday, November 8

8:30 a.m.- Light Refreshments

9:00 a.m.- How to Make Your Lessons Fun and Effective: There are some easy “add-ons” that can make your lessons exceptional and memorable. These include object lessons, gospel magic, simple puppets, and more. Anyone can do these easy “add-ons.”

10:00 a.m.- Dealing with Discipline Problems: One thing you can count on with kids: you are going to have discipline problems from time to time. Here are some things you can do to help make things run more smoothly and help children behave.

11:00- Lunch

12:00- Bus Ministry: How to visit, the duties of the bus workers, how to turn your transportation service into a real ministry, organize for growth and all the essentials to have a successful bus ministry. The last seven words of the church are, “We have never done it that way before.” Many churches have simply given up on the bus ministry, but some churches have decided their bus ministry is worth saving. However, a 1980’s approach is just not going to work for them with today’s kids. There are some new ways of doing an old ministry that might work for your church as well. The entire purpose of having a bus ministry is to reach the families of the riders we pick up. Here are some ways to do that effectively.

1:30- Bus Ministry Part 2
